It is indisputable the fantastic benefits that neurofeedback offers in regards to reducing stress, fear, anxiety, and depression. For many these emotions and patterns of thinking can creep up during a pregnancy. Especially a first pregnancy!

When you are pregnant your nervous system interacts with your baby’s nervous system and the baby’s will learn sensory signals from your reactions. If you are constantly experiencing negative emotions, this can impart that same worry, fear, or negative emotion to the child.

One way that your nervous system interacts with the baby’s in by way of hormone production or lack thereof. There are good hormones (endorphins, serotonin, dopamine) commonly associated with feelings of happiness and bad hormones or “stress hormones” such as cortisol which serves its purpose during activities like working out or solving difficult situations. However over production of this during times of inactivity can be harmful to a growing baby. Read more about this in an article by WebMD entitled “Fetus to Mom: You’re Stressing Me Out!

It is very important to practice peace while pregnant and if you find yourself unable to experience peace with walking, meditation, or other activities you may enjoy it may be time to give neurofeedback a shot.

Neurofeedback deals with these issues through re-training the brain to regulate itself and the effects are long-lasting, even after you have completed the therapy regimen advised by one of our doctors.
