Oak Brook IL Anxiety Specialist

Mild anxiety is a normal reaction to stress. However, in some people anxiety can become excessive. There are many varieties of anxiety that include post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and panic disorder. When grouped all together these disorders are among the most common psychological disorders.

An estimated 31.1% of U.S. adults experience any anxiety disorder at some time in their lives.1

Several different parts of the brain are key in the production of fear and anxiety. Brain wave patterns play a significant role in many anxiety disorders. For instance, many other patients with anxiety have excessive fast-frequency brain waves that make it difficult to relax.

The Training Program

Neurohealth’s 40-minute sessions teach your brain to change itself.

During 40-minute training sessions, you’ll sit in a private room to watch a movie or play a video game. Sensors monitor your brainwaves and connect to a computer. The computer is connected to the screen, modifying the screen to display better when your brain is producing more balanced brainwaves. Over the course of the program, your brain learns to stop producing brain patterns causing your symptoms and start performing optimally.

Neuro Fact

In humans, the left side of the brain controls speech. In birds, the left side of the brain controls song. At least in this way, humans are “bird brained"

What Clients Say About Us

Julie W.
Teachers made huge comments on his math skills and behavior. I also saw this at home with understanding of what I said to him registering more with him. I saw this in his eyes: recognition. Fewer outbursts of anger.

Anita M.
I am extremely happy with my son’s outcomes and feel very fortunate to have encountered Dr. Bonesteel early in my child’s life. This method has dramatically changed his ability to focus and take initiative. I feel confident that my son’s life has been dramatically enhanced. I can’t express my appreciation fully in words.

Mary B.
Dr. Bonesteel has masterfully, compassionately, and extremely kindly helped me navigate through a history of childhood and marital abuse, a child with twenty years of struggle with life-threatening physical and emotional illness, extended family discord, and disharmony with my child with severe depression. I am blessed to have found Neurohealth Associates.
