At NeuroHealth, it is important to arrive at an accurate diagnosis based on an analysis of the brain’s neural networks. It simply is not informative enough to describe a condition as “ADD” or ”anxiety” without knowing why. We need to understand the underlying brain related dysfunction that creates the symptom in the first place. For instance, there are 11 different types of brain patterns (called endophenotypes) that can create symptoms of ADD, anxiety, learning problems, and stress based syndromes. Each one calls for a different type of treatment. A condition that is due to a frontal lobe problem needs to be treated differently than a condition affecting the back of the brain. At NeuroHealth, our treatment is tailored to the patient’s objective brain results rather than taking a guess about the cause of the symptoms. Not surprisingly, this type of diagnostic process translates into effective results for the vast majority of our patients.
